Reading the frequency and distribution of recorded integrated environmental permit inspections.
In 2024, 294 of the 1,240 plants subject to an Integrated Environmental Permit (AIA) were inspected — 24%. The remaining 76% (946 plants) have no inspection recorded for the reference year.
The absence of a recorded inspection indicates neither the absence of emissions nor the presence of an irregularity. For 76% of plants the dataset reports no inspection in the reference year; the environmental data available for these plants therefore comes from the declarations required by the register and is not linked, in the same year, to a recorded inspection visit.
